Our involvement in affordable housing ties in with our personal goal to give back to our communities which has included donating our time and monies to several charitable causes including the rehabilitation of housing shelters; child stabilization and nurturing; stopping youth homelessness; assisting recently released incarcerated single moms; partnering with, funding and guiding housing assistance non-profits, fundraising for the YMCA and serving as board members for a charitable non-profit.
STEVE BRAM PRINCIPAL / CEO
Steve pursued his childhood interest in building at the top rated construction education program in the country, the University of Florida and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Building Construction degree in 1979. While in college, Steve was a member of the football team, national scholastic honorary society and a fraternity. He worked to supplement the finances needed to complete college.
Steve has worked in construction and development in Southern California for over 35 years. His career has been focused primarily on multi-family apartment and housing development. Steve has partnered with several multi-family industry leaders including Related, Picerne and Con Am. Steve’s background is diverse including land development, commercial, retail, industrial and single family master plan development and construction. He is experienced in all aspects of development and construction including acquisition, entitlement, development, construction, finance, and management. Steve formed Opportune Companies in 1996 to further his interest in affordable housing construction and development.
Steve has been responsible for building over almost 7,000 multi-family units and has acquired, rehabilitated, constructed and worked with several cities to complete over 2,600 total affordable units, including both new development and construction and acquisition and rehabilitation of multi-family affordable housing units and over 100 affordable homes. Several of Steve’s projects have received awards including Golden Nuggets, Projects of the Year, State of California and other National Associations.
